Its aquatic plant, it is located in Southeast Asia, Australia, Madagascar and Sri Lanka, and India subcontinent. It is common ingredients in Chinese medicine, as well as in Ayurvedic Medicine

 

In China Cica is known as “The Miracle Elixir of Life”, Also in it is popular ingredients in Korea, also known as K-Beauty. It is now growing trend In USA.

 

It is also  rich source of natural bioactive substances such as triterpenoid saponins, flavonoids, phenolic acids, triterpenic steroids, amino acids and sugars.

  

In ancient history it was popular ingredient to treat small wounds, scratches, burns, hypertrophic wound healing, and anti-inflammatory agent.

 

What we need to know it has 4 active compound

  • Asiaticoside
  • Asiatic acid
  • Madecassic acid
  • Madecassoside

 

It helps in moisturizer dry sensitive skin, it helps in improve redness related to skin barrier

 

Not only that the sub-compound ingredients Madecassoside, is actually used to treat burn wound healing. It is that ingredients is common to treat burn in France. Mechanism was through boosting antioxidative activity, as well as collagen synthesis , as well as angiogenesis
